So apart from not doing Pilates as there was no class, it was pretty much to plan. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever ran 5 times in one week. On Friday I was feeling a bit run down, I have an mouth ulcer and I started to feel a bit of a chill. So I had a large hot toddy and took myself to bed. On Saturday I kept warm and made sure I took it easy.

It seemed to pay off as the chill didn’t develop and I was able to run 11 miles on Sunday morning.

My run was tough, probably due to not feeling 100%, but it was fun. I explored some footpaths, some of which were very overgrown and I got a lot of nettle stings. I wasn’t as fast as I would have liked but I think some of that was due to stopping to find the footpaths and stiles and negotiating said nettles and thistles!

I also experimented with using an electrolyte tablet in my water bottle. I’m not sure if it makes much difference but it wasn’t unpleasant so I think I will use one during the race.

How has your week been? Do you use electrolyte drinks or tablets on long runs? Do you find it helps?

Doughnuts and some running

Doughnuts and some running

This week was rather fun. I only managed two runs but I really enjoyed them, plus I got to the gym. So Monday I went to my Pilates class. I do miss it when I can’t go, even though some of the moves are really hard and I ache afterwards. This week wasn’t so bad…

End of November

End of November

I’ve not done a weekly roundup since finishing my Trailffest training. To be honest I’ve not been that regular with my runs or workouts since the start of October. I’ve still managed at least two runs a week but these have been shorter ones with the Start to Run course and my lunchtime running…
